The Guuta Award Foundation is the first structured and impartial recognition platform dedicated to the local community in Ethiopia and the immigrants.

Our Inspiration

Sidama society once used indigenous systems like Guuta to measure responsibility, integrity, and contribution.
 We revive this value and institutionalize it for today’s generation. Guuta is a Sidama term that defines a task completed with utmost excellence and success. The Sidama people employ the term to convey their utmost satisfaction when an individual completes a task that embodies dedication, excellence, and hard work. Guuta symbolizes more than the completion of a task. It symbolizes the achievement of a task at a high level where effort, excellence, and integrity have a significant impact. When an individual declares that a task is Guuta, they mean that the task has met or exceeded expectations in terms of quality and purpose.
